It's supposed to rain all weekend! Miles and I are flying solo as Kristie's working both Saturday and Sunday – I see some indoor playdates and maybe a trip to
Mill 180 Park in our future. She won't be home until late on Saturday (she's third shooter on a wedding video with our friends
Brittney and Shana) so I'm excited to watch "The Ritual" on Netflix once the baby goes to bed. (Does anybody else save up things they know their partner won't want to watch?)
I also want to start a new knitting project. I haven't made anything since finishing those
woodland creatures cross-stitch patterns [affiliate link] – my hands needed a break! – but now I'm ready to start a sweater or something for Miles to wear this fall. I think I'm going to pick something from
this book [affiliate link], which I got for Christmas and still haven't opened, oops!
I made phone calls to my senators and state rep last week (see the script I used
here) about the forced separation at the border of immigrant children and babies from their parents. I'm trying to keep on top of the news and stay engaged and angry, while also managing my mental wellness in whatever ways feel right (mostly
baby goat videos). It's going to be a long fight, and we need to take care of ourselves in order to stay in it.
What are your plans for this weekend? Is it rainy where you are?
