I'm looking forward happily (hoppily? ugh, sorry) to Easter! We're not religious, but I do believe in getting dressed up, spending time with family, and eating whatever seasonal Reese's is currently on shelves.
Our kitchen is home to a lot of succulents – real and in poster, dish towel, and salt-and-pepper-shaker form – so cacti on Easter eggs fit right in. It's a simple DIY and should be easy, especially if you have a stash of craft paints. (Use food-safe paint if you plan on eating the eggs, and kid-safe if you enlist a little one to help.)
Coat your finger with green paint, and use it to create your cactus shapes. Follow up with pink paint dabbed on with a tiny brush for flowers, and gold glitter paint with an even tinier brush for fun.
That's it! They're so bright and cheery.
I made a quick video of the process and am sharing it on Facebook if you want to see.
