Something about fall makes me want very much to buy a house – which we are not close to being ready to do, ha! A lot of saving has to happen first. Kristie and I are ready for the baby's arrival thanks to shower gifts from friends, family, and co-workers (and lots of freelance work over the past few months that helped us pad the "nest egg" account, which will enable both of us to be home for about two months after he's born). I think our next big savings goal will likely be a down payment for a new home. But that doesn't hamper my daydreamy urge to scan the real estate listings this time of year...
Sometimes I get so excited about very specific things about being a parent. Like taking our son to art museums! Even when he's a baby, I can't wait to see what kind of shapes and colors catch his eye.
Oh, and my birthday is this weekend! I'm turning 30 on the 30th. I keep forgetting, because...pregnancy brain. I really thought for the longest time that that was a sexist myth, but oh my god. It's so real. Anyway, Kristie has a few surprises up her sleeve for tomorrow, but I do know that one of them is a prenatal massage, and I'm so excited I could cry! I hope you have a good weekend, too.
