It's been a bit quiet around here lately, hasn't it? It's because I've been spending time working on my biggest project yet. I'm pregnant! Kristie and I are expecting our first baby on Thanksgiving Day.
I'm excited to be saying goodbye to the first trimester, and hopefully most of the early pregnancy symptoms (for me, these were feeling hungover, unquenchable fatigue, and extremely painful breasts, in case you're curious ;).
This baby has been a long time coming. My history of endometriosis and PCOS, which I've written about here before, made conceiving difficult (but obviously not impossible).
I don't know yet if I'm going to write publicly about that whole process – it could honestly fill a book and is still feeling fresh in a way that's sometimes a little painful. I'm feeling protective of our privacy right now. (But if you are in a same-sex relationship and curious about how we got pregnant to help inform your own journey, email me!)
But this blog will keep being what it's always been – a place for me to share projects, style, and most importantly, real life. After three months of keeping mum (ha) I definitely have some thoughts about pregnancy to share! Plus feminist parenting, how we told my parents, maternity clothes, thoughts on gender reveals...etc. Keep coming back, friends. I'm told my energy will start to perk up again around now and I hope I'll be able to get back to creating content for this space, something I've truly missed doing.
And Baby – you are so beloved already. Your mama and I can't wait to meet you.
*These pictures were taken by our BFF Brittney of Love & Perry Photography – who else?? – who managed to make me look all glowy even though I felt like crap! That last picture feels like everything to me.
PS – My sweatshirt, on sale. I think the dress is already sold out, but it was from Old Navy and on sale too. That's an affiliate link.
