We celebrated my mom's birthday this past weekend with a special hike – with two llamas!
My mom had read about this kind of activity in the newspaper last year, and had her heart set on it. My dad arranged everything with Debbie at Country Quilt Llama Farm. We met Debbie at the beginning of a trail in Cornwall, CT – right next to the Housatonic River. She opened up one of the sliding doors of her minivan, and who should emerge from the backseat but...
...two llamas named Theo and Jack!
We walked them together for an hour down a beautiful trail right next to the river.
They were full of SO much personality, and were so sweet and friendly! (Not to mention very soft.)
Once the hike was over, Debbie opened the trunk, and Jack and Theo hopped back into the minivan. (She owns five llamas, and does these special walks all the time. Her llamas also make educational and therapy visits to schools, nursing homes, and hospitals in the area.)
We headed around the corner to the Wandering Moose for dinner as the sun set. The food was so delicious – it was the perfect end to the day! Cornwall is such a lovely town – there are beautiful old buildings and classic cars everywhere.
