What's going on around here:
Oof, still so sad. There was a vigil in Northampton on Wednesday that we planned to go to, but missed because poor Kristie woke up that morning with awful vertigo. Instead, we stayed in and called our senators, asking them to support gun control measures, as well as the filibuster that was going on.
On a happy note, though: we're going to see Dolly Parton in concert at Tanglewood tonight! Kristie and her southern heart can barely contain themselves.
Chiara's wedding was last weekend! Officiating was terrifying, but I was so honored to be part of their celebration. I can't wait to share pictures.
I've been listening to NPR less lately (trying to modulate what kind and how much of the news I take in), and have gotten back on my podcast kick. I'm almost all caught up on The Longest Shortest Time and working on Radiolab.
Kristie and I are getting serious about our finances and debts. I'm reading Total Money Makeover and we're also listening to podcasts of the Dave Ramsey Show. This dude is super Christian, and sometimes a little bit of a dick, but he's also super smart and knows his shit. We're making progress already!
I finally finished The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and yeah, it's actually pretty life-changing. We are getting *awesome* at getting rid of all the crap we don't need at home, and I'm thinking differently about organizing our spaces and taking care of our belongings. I've even been making the bed every morning, which never (ever) happened before! Even my office at work feels different. I put everything away at the end of the day, which makes the next morning so much more pleasant. I feel more productive and happier at work.
I got my oldest pair of shoes re-heeled for the summer. They're a pair of huarache clogs my mom got me from Urban Outfitters 14 years ago! Way before I (or Urban Outfitters for that matter) was cool ;)
