...on a very chilly beach, ha!
Kristie and I left on Jan. 1 for a weekend in Provincetown. We've visited P-town pretty frequently over the years we've been together, and it's always been a special place for us. It seemed like the perfect setting for starting a new year (and celebrating Kristie's 35th birthday, which was last month) :) Plus it had been almost two years since our last visit!
Because it was the off season, we were able to find a spot at a nicer hotel in town (we usually stay down the road in Truro). This time we booked a room at the 8 Dyer Hotel! Steve and Brandon were amazing hosts -- plus Brandon is a master chef, so breakfast was 💯 every morning. The hotel was something like half a block from Commercial St., and we spent lots of time strolling from shop to shop, or walking on the beach.
It was cold for sure, but so beautiful (and almost warm) in the sun!
The town was plenty festive -- I mean, just look at this Christmas tree, made of lobster traps.
When we weren't visiting our favorite restaurants or finding new treasures, Kristie and I were holed up in front of the fireplace in our cozy room. It was dreamy and a half. And the jacuzzi tub in the loft? I mean...
Not gonna lie, having cable again was pretty nice too! We may or may not have stayed up late to watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days while drinking hot chocolate and eating saltwater taffy in bed.
Plus there was plenty going on downtown. Oh my gosh, getting to watch New Year's Day fireworks from the beach was so cool...
The weekend was the perfect combination of getting all rosy-cheeked in the fresh salty air, and curling up all cozy with a good book (by which I mean a bad movie). ;) Here's to another year of travel, hibernation, trying new things, and doing it all together!
