This is one of those holiday treats that's almost too pretty to eat. Actually, you know what? Nothing that tastes *this good* is too pretty to eat. I gave little baggies of this chocolate candy cane bark to my coworkers as holiday gifts this year! If you want to give it a try too (you totally should, it's stupid-easy)...
You will need:
- 8 oz. dark chocolate
- 4 oz. white chocolate
- Crushed candy canes
Spread a piece of parchment paper on a metal cookie sheet. Melt the chocolate gently and slowly (keeping them separate) using the double boiler method. Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the parchment paper, and use a rubber spatula to spread it around in an even layer. Drizzle the melted white chocolate on top of the dark.
Draw a clean toothpick through the melted chocolate, making a pretty marbled pattern.
Sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top.
Stick it in the fridge until it hardens! (1-2 hours for me.)
All that's left is to break it up into small, bitesize pieces. Or, you know, try to eat the whole thing in one bite. It's up to you.
YUM! This is a nice treat to have already made and in the fridge for when out-of-town guests come to visit, or when you're in a pinch for a quick holiday present (like for a mail carrier or a teacher).
