Thanksgiving last week was a really damn good one. It was the longest break I've had from my new job, and Kristie and I soaked up as much time with my family as we could. I'm still feeling grateful for close friendships with my cousins, amazing food (including GF stuffing -- thanks Mom!), and how easy it is to be around these awesome people.
And of course, as soon as we were settled back in at home, the Christmas tree and decorations went up while we watched Elf! I may or may not have been listening to Christmas music at work for the past few weeks, so it was fun to really start celebrating. Are your winter holiday decorations up yet??
Things to do this weekend:
- Learn something new about Love Actually
- Order 15 minutes of puppy time from Uber
- Make a pretty Hannukah DIY
- Cross your fingers that your hair stylist will open a quiet chair
- Bookmark this recipe for bourbon cough syrup
- Figure out the most popular nail polish color and best pizza slice in your state (I like Michigan's nail polish, and Kentucky's pizza!)
- See Pantone's Color(s) of the Year for 2016
- I have three words for you: baby pygmy hippo
- Plan to visit a national park on a fee-free day
My plans for the coming week:
- Go see Carol
- Drop off a donation of blankets and towels to the animal shelter
- Make French macarons
- Start wrapping Christmas presents!
- Potatoes were way on sale this week, so I want to try making a GF verison of Maine potato donuts (like we had in Portland!)
