I had liquid frisket left over from this Easter egg decorating project, so I decided to combine it with marbling and make these prints! (I swear when I first heard this song on the radio, I didn't know it was Justin Bieber. I swear!!)
If you want to make these too, you'll need:
- Thick white cardstock
- A pencil
- Liquid frisket
- A paintbrush
- Foam shaving cream
- Craft paint
- A toothpick
Write out your message in pencil on the cardstock.
Trace over it with thick brushstrokes of liquid frisket. Let it dry completely!
Prepare the marbling. Spread out an even layer of shaving cream in a pan or dish (you don't plan to eat from). Squirt paint onto it, and draw marble-y designs with the toothpick. Place the cardstock writing side-down onto the paint, evenly pressing. Pull it up carefully, and gently run the cardstock under water until the paint and shaving cream is all washed off. Lay the cardstock flat on a paper towel until it's entirely dry.
Once the cardstock is totally dry, you can remove the liquid frisket. The pencil eraser really came in handy in rubbing it off!
Ta-da!
The thicker strokes of masking liquid definitely worked better -- as did darker paint colors. That poor pink one was too light -- you can hardly read the "hell yes."
