We missed Northampton Pride this year, can you believe it? So sad. But maybe we'll be able to catch another one before the summer is over. I don't usually wear a lot of rainbow or very bright colors (I was recently hard-pressed to find a dress in my closet that wasn't black to wear to a wedding), but Pride is always an exception for me. It's so much fun to get dressed up, march through downtown, and then hang out at the festival with our friends. And I end up crying every year. Northampton is such an accepting place, I rarely ever feel different or discriminated against in our town. But on Pride? The outpouring of support and love gives me like near-constant goosebumps. And I cry, because I'm happy, and safe, and part of such an amazing community.
Anyway, if you're planning on hosting a Pride party, check out these DIYs...
