Like the perrenial Christmas elf that I am, I've started crafting a few holiday gifts, including this puzzle for my cutie pie nephew Jacob. I love this picture, and I think he'll like putting it together and realizing it's him!
If you want to make one of these pictures too, you wil need:
- A picture printed on regular paper using a laser printer
- A blank puzzle (I linked to the size I used -- pretty good for a five-year-old, I think)
- Gel medium
- Mod Podge
- A foam brush
- An X-acto knife
- A rag
Evenly paint a thin layer of the gel medium onto the puzzle, and press the picture onto it (photo side down), carefully smoothing out all of the bubbles. Let it dry overnight.
The next day, moisten your rag with water and gently rub it across the puzzle, removing the paper until it's all gone. Paint an even layer of Mod Podge across the puzzle (and don't worry, it will dry clearer than it goes on). Let sit for 24 hours.
Once it's completely dry, use your X-acto knife to score along the puzzle pieces, carefully separating them.
PS - Make a photo transfer Christmas ornament, and wood photo postcard.
