Do you ever get a DIY idea that won't leave you alone until you make it? I dreamt about these coasters until a quick trip to the craft store helped them come to life. (And by dreamt I mean I had a panicky nightmare about not being able to find the right size beads. This is my life.)
To make them, you will need:
- Wooden beads (I used the 5/8" size, 30 beads per coaster)
- Parachute cord
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
Knot one end of your parachute cord and string on six beads. Knot the other end tightly and cut, leaving about an inch or an inch and a half of cord. Make five strings like this, and then attach them to one another using the hot glue gun. Dab a bit of glue on each end bead, holding them together until the glue cools.
These neon pretties are now holding court on our front porch.
PS - Branch slice coasters and dyed wood placemats.
