Something different happens to my hair in summertime. As soon as humidity hits, it takes on a life of its own and all of a sudden I have...awful, frizzy wings.
Anyway, I came up with a solution (for the gym, at least). These yoga headbands are really cheap and stupid-easy to make. Which style is your favorite? I think I like the knotted one best.
To make a yoga headband, you will need...
- Stretchy jersey knit fabric cut to 8" wide by 20" long (make sure it's stretchy long-wise)
- Pins
- A sewing machine or basic sewing skills and a needle and thread
Pin the two ends of your fabric together, folding each side up in 1/2" increments as you go (see pictures below). Stictch a hem, and turn the headband inside out to finish. (I left the edges raw because I like the look.)
To make the knotted headband, simply tie a knot in the center of your fabric before pinning and stitching the ends together. Finish using the instructions for the basic headband.
To make the twist headband, simply put one twist in the fabric before pinning and stitching the ends together as for the basic headband.
PS - Magic Carpet yoga mats, and does sucking at meditation mean you're doing it right?
