I just got a new bicylce! (Blame my binge-watching of "Call the Midwife.")
The truth is, I'm using the term "new" quite loosely. I bought it from my brother for $40. It looks to be from the '70s and needs lots of work (least of which, albeit what I'm looking forward to the most, a new paint job). It's new...to me.
Anyway, it's in good enough working order to use now, but I'm trying my very hardest to wait until I get a helmet. I cracked enough in my childhood to know I'm better off with a little extra padding. It's been kind of a pain to find a good-looking one, however. After lots of Googling (using terms like "bike helmets that aren't ugly," because let's face it, the standard isn't quite winning any awards), I stumbled across CycleChic, a UK-based company.
I'm taken with the retro-inspired helmets -- and the best news is that they ship to the US! The wooden one is my favorite. I think it would be worth the helmet hair! Have you had luck finding attractive bicycle helmets?
PS - Public Bikes, perfect for spring.
