I've been a little spray paint-crazy lately. It's just so easy.
Most recently, I spray painted a few mason jar lids with chalkboard paint. This was mainly so that when I make peanut butter, I can easily label the "expiration date" (it keeps for up to one month in the fridge). But it's also a good way to label jars used for storage of dry goods.
One coat of chalkboard spray paint, and the lids were good to go (make sure they're totally dry!). I tested the lids using a chalk marker leftover from our wedding DIY projects. It washes off easily with warm water, and can then be replaced by a new expiration date or label.
I wouldn't recommend doing this for jars used for drinking, though, on the off chance that some of the paint gets on the rim of the jar. Other than that, it's making storage in our kitchen a little bit easier!
PS - Etched mason jar vase and reversible mason jar cozy.
