These succulents are wintering in our kitchen
Holy. Snow. I was grateful for a two-hour delay at the school where I work this morning. Kristie and I spent most of it shoveling 17 inches of snow out of our driveway -- realizing midway through that today is Valentine's Day! Thanks to the delay, we had time to make waffles, have hot chocolate, and exchange little presents. Kristie got me a beautiful custom charm bracelet from Brooklyn Charm (I'd been admiring their booth at the Columbus Circle Holiday Market in NYC last December and my sneaky friends informed my wife), and I got her a gift card to Olive Garden (her favorite restaurant) and made a cover for her iPad using this tutorial (but I sewed it since I didn't have any Stitch Witchery). It was a very good morning.
This afternoon, we're leaving for Burlington to stay with one of my best friends from high school for the night, and then driving up to Montrèal tomorrow for the long weekend! We rented an apartment in Old Montrèal through Airbnb, and I can't wait to settle in for a cozy weekend away. Oh, does anybody know where I can find gluten-free poutine?!
