Have you heard of Printic? This app allows you to select and send vintage-themed prints of the images on your phone. It's free to download, and real prints arrive at your doorstep (or your friend's) in 3-5 days. Printic ships internationally, and each print costs only $0.49.
Printic graciously let me try sending a few prints of my own. I gave the app a test drive while visiting New York City last month. (Scroll down for information on how you could win 15 free prints to send!)
I was really happy with the app's ease-of-use. It was simple to select and send photos while on the go, both to myself and to the friends I was visiting. I like that you have the option to add a message to the print, and that you can send an image to more than one recipient at once. I'm imagining sending these as custom postcards to friends and family, nice surprises after a fun night out, or -- and this is my favorite idea -- sending photos to your home address while you're traveling. Wouldn't it be lovely to come home to snapshots from your trip complete with a quick jotted note about what you were doing that day? What a great way to remember the delicious smell of a bakery, what the birds sounded like, how a beautiful new place looked in real life. I can't wait to use this app for that specific purpose as we do more traveling over the next few years.
If you do plan to use this app while traveling, I would recommend inputting your payment info (credit or debit card) and the recipients' addresses ahead of time. The app will save it (you will still need to enter your credit or debit card's security code when you order prints) and that will speed things up.
