I hope everybody had a beautiful week full of family, friends, pets, solitude, or whatever fills your heart. I'll be back soon with new DIYs, style shoots, holiday photos, recipes, and more, but in the meantime, here are a few pictures from the weekend I spent in New York City earlier this month.
I left for the city on Thursday to attend a work meeting, then extended the weekend and stayed on until Monday visiting with friends. We wandered the streets of SoHo (in the rain...still magical); caught up together over dinner and drinks in new -- hopefully unbreakable -- wine glasses; browsed the vendors at the Columbus Circle Holiday Market, where I had delicious macarons and the best hot chocolate of my life; window-shopped at Tiffany's; had amazing gluten-free macaroni and cheese at S'MAC; drank (lots of) whiskey and talked and talked; bought a Christmas tree in Midtown and got it all the way to Washington Heights on the subway; met up with more friends for breakfast and a visit to TuLu's; went to an Evensong at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine; watched the new Aziz Ansari stand-up on Netflix; and decorated a Christmas tree. I feel very lucky to have such good friends who live in this great place and let me crash on their couch from time to time. I miss them already.
