When we were in Virginia earlier this month (see a few photos here), we got to celebrate Thanksgiving with Kristie's whole family! Her grandmother ("MawMaw") spent all day in the kitchen working on a feast complete with turkey, gravy, stuffing (including gluten-free cornbread stuffing for me that Glutino kindly sent over -- it tastes just like the real thing!), mashed potatoes, and lots of sweet tea. Since she'll be spending Thanksgiving day with my family in Connecticut, all of Kristie's aunts, uncles, and cousins all came to celebrate with us early. It was so much fun, and I know she appreciated everyone changing their plans and schedules to make it happen. I'm really lucky to have married into a family like hers. Plus, we get to eat two Thanksgiving dinners this year!
What about your family? Do you have strict traditions about celebrating on a certain day, or are your holidays more flexible?
And in case you're curious, no, I could not get "Fauxsgiving" to catch on. There's always next year!
