We did it! This is the last batch of photos from our honeymoon (save a roll of film that still wants developing).
On our last full day in Curacao, we headed back to Willemstad to explore a little more. Kristie and I both believe that to understand a place, you have to know its history, so we visited a few museums, starting with the Jewish Historical Cultural Museum and synagogue.
It was so cool and quiet in this courtyard.
Then we strolled over to the Curacao Maritime Museum, passing some pretty beautiful sidestreets and more of those gorgeous Caribbean colors.
At the Maritime Museum, we watched a short documentary detailing Curacao's history, including the colonization of the island and decades of slavery. That education provided a new lens we used the rest of the time we spent on the island.
We wanted to spend our last few daytime hours on the beach, so we headed to the shore as soon as we got back to the hotel. The rest of the day was about strawberry daquiris, reading, and naps in the sun.
This hat is my favorite! I got it while we were in Willemstad. It Velcros flat at the back so it's comfortable to lay on, and obviously doesn't interfere much with hair.
Oh yeah, and two more words: infinity pool. Honeymoon out!
