Things here are finally starting to settle into an autumn rhythm -- no less busy, but we're getting better at riding the waves of who's working late which night, what can be thrown together for dinner, and does the dog need a walk? (The answer to that question is almost always, yes.)
Some of what's happening in our lives (lists can sometimes be so soothing):
- I got a table at an upcoming craft fair in mid-October, so getting ready for that is keeping my hands busy.
- I turn 26 years old on Monday, so this weekend we're heading to Connecticut to celebrate with my parents, brother, and sister. (Have you ever felt like a certain age? I've felt like I was 26 for about the past four years. I wonder what it will feel like to actually be 26.)
- Kristie and I got iPhones while we were in New York City (more about that later), so I'll be on Instagram a lot more in the forseeable future.
- This blog is presenting new and exciting opportunities almost every day. It still blows my mind how much fun this is. Actually, all work-oriented parts of my life are growing in positive ways. My day job is presenting new opportunities for creativity as well, and I've taken on some freelance web editing (just in time, since both our cars are all of a sudden in need of a mechanic's attention).
- While almost every weekend through mid-November is full of plans with friends and family, we're also looking forward to a nice, quiet winter (and I'm planning lots of home improvement and craft projects to prevent doldrums).
In short, things are speeding up and slowing down at the same time. Or maybe they're speeding up, and we're just getting better at keeping our heads above water. Either way, great things are coming.
