Well...not really, of course. But if I had a time machine, that's where I'd go first: Paris in the 1900s.
We got pretty close last weekend when we went to NYC to surprise two of my best friends for their birthdays. Kristie and I spent an hour together at Fete Paradiso on Governors Island to celebrate my birthday a little early.
Fete Paradiso is the world's first traveling festival of vintage carnival rides, and it made its American debut this summer. If you'll be in New York City at all this week, I highly recommend checking it out -- especially if you have kids! It's crazy affordable. The ferry to Governors Island is free, as is admission to the carnival. Tickets for rides and games are $3 each, and each costs one ticket. The last day of the carnival is Sept. 29.
