Before Kristie and I went on our honeymoon (view photos here and here), I was in charge of packing all the power cords necessary to charge our phones, Kristie's iPad, my Kindle. I wanted to stay organized so I coiled them up and secured each with a twist tie. We have a ton lying around from bread packages, snacks...random stuff. I remember looking down and thinking, "I wish this looked cuter."
It dawned on me (too late for the honeymoon) to use washi tape to dress up the twist ties a little bit. I love how fast and easy this is, and how much cuter the cord looks! This is not a life-changing project, but it was satisfying.
Basically, all you have to do is cut two pieces of washi tape, each about an inch longer than your twist tie.
Straighten the twist tie and stick it in the middle of one of the pieces of tape. Put the other piece of tape onto the exposed side of the twist tie, so it's covered on both sides.
Trim the ends.
That's it! Piece of cake! Or...piece of tape? Label the ends to keep all your cords organized.
You can even smooth out the twist ties and use them more than once.
Next vacation, our cords are going to be the cutest.
