Today I am making a Mason Jar Soap Pump with All Natural Foaming Soap. I have a serious love for mason jars and clean living, so this project definitely combines two of my favorite things.
What you’ll need:
Mason Jar; I used a standard pint-sized one
Spray Paint (I chose a velvet finish Aluminum color)
Drill & Tin Snips (or other Metal Cutters)
Foaming Soap Pump (I used an old Bath and Bodyworks one)
Liquid Castile Soap
How To:
- Remove the pump off the soap bottle and set aside.
- Cut the top off of the bottle, leaving about an inch of the plastic.
- Trace the opening of the bottle on the mason jar lid with a sharpie.
- Using the drill, drill a hole in the lid. Then cut the whole circle out with the tin snips.
- Spray paint the lid. Spray paint the pump. Let dry.
- Fill the jar three quarters of the way with water.
- Fill the last quarter with the liquid castile soap. Stir to blend.
- I used peppermint-scented castile soap, but you can use whatever scent you please, or unscented and add your own essential oils. I love using citrus!
- Add a few drops of tea tree oil for disinfecting if you please.
- Poke the plastic bottle piece through the cut lid.
- Screw the pump onto the plastic bottle piece.
- Place your new foaming soap pump lid on the jar.
- Twist the lid band on to secure.
- And now you are done! Enjoy your new foaming soap!
