Last week we enjoyed the first fruits (well...vegetables) of our labor in the backyard garden: one good-sized zucchini and enough bush beans to serve as a dinner side for the both of us. The basil is also doing well, and I brought some of that, and a few beans, with me to the Cape two weekends ago. I'm looking forward to zucchini up to our elbows, making fresh pesto from the basil, and (maybe) trying my hand at canning some homemade tomato sauce. What's growing where you live?
