i posted awhile back about ideas to keep kids busy at weddings. this week, we put together the activity bags for the seven children who will be attending our own wedding! i definitely used a lot of the ideas in my first post, and some new ones too.
putting these together was so much fun! i stamped each bag with the child's name (they'll be waiting for them at their seat at the reception).
we kept track of the bags for the two kids who are under the age of three (certain toys + items we'd picked for the bags are not safe for all ages). we added special baggies with crayons for them.
it was a total throwback to add the fortune telling miracle fish + wooly willy! in fact, my brother came over the other night to help us taste a few wine options for the wedding + we ended up bringing out the fortune telling fish. we used to get them in our christmas stockings! (we were always fickle.) i have my doubts that these kids are going to have any idea what these toys are, but i know their parents will recognize them.
i made an "i-spy" list in photoshop using martha stewart's template as inspiration. i tweaked a few things on the list to customize it for our wedding. and i'm so excited about the puzzles we made in january! we found blank puzzles at the guild in northampton just begging to be painted + added our initials in a heart, just like these. we found the puzzles in two different sizes; one has bigger pieces for the little kids, and the other has smaller pieces for more advanced puzzle solvers. this is what they look like put together!
we threw in some glow-in-the-dark silly bandz + a pencil for the "i-spy" sheet, and i added kraft ribbon bows at the top as a finishing touch!
