the wedding is just over a month away -- i can't even believe that i just typed those words! the days just flew by. now we're getting response cards (116 yesses so far...) + finalizing, or at least thinking about finalizing, details. a cool surprise has been seeing things disappear from our wedding registries -- surprise because this whole time i forgot that people actually get presents at weddings. kristie + i have been living together for awhile now, and so we don't need very many of the typical household products that couples can register for (although we could probably use a few upgrades!). a lot of people are more comfortable buying traditional wedding gifts, like slow cookers + sheet sets. those things are covered with our registries at target + amazon.com. i love using the amazon registry since we can add items from any online store, and our guests can find them in one place.
what we're really excited about is our registry on honeyfund.com. this website allows couples to register for specific parts of their honeymoon, so guests can pay for a portion of the hotel costs or a special experience, like swimming with dolphins! we broke up the cost of our whole honeymoon into small, manageable gifts, so hopefully our guests will be able to help us get the honeymoon of our dreams!
here's a little look at a few of the things on our wedding registries:
target: fagor home canning kit; apples to apples; lacrosse severe weather alert radio; sodastream
amazon: clean air distributing counter top compost pail; disposable sleeves for ipad (can't wait to use these in the kitchen!); the truck food cookbook from modcloth; cord set from west elm
honeyfund: swimming with dolphins; hato caves tour; drinks on the beach; couples' massage
