i'm so happy it's friday. i mean, i love fridays every week, but this one especially. this was my first full week back to work since the holiday break + boy am i tired! my coworkers have been in + out with one of those nasty new england colds, so i'm loading up on emergen-c, getting lots of sleep + hoping it passes our little house by (related: cures for the common cold + 10 best ways to eat superfoods). this weekend should be a good one: a friend's birthday party tonight; this tomorrow; lots of little wedding-related projects + errands; + hopefully starting to paint our bedroom. maybe. what are you looking forward to this weekend?
a few links i've been loving lately...
i'm enchanted by the reconstructionists. brainchild of illustrator lisa congdon + writer maria popova, this new project is a celebration of remarkable women. each monday in 2013, a new illustrated portrait of one such woman appears on the website, along with a short essay about her life. the reconstructionists is a wonderful tribute to women who have shaped the world!
apartment therapy has a new series called the january cure, offering a few tasks each day that can help get your homelife organized. the ideas are inspiring! getting a fresh perspective is my favorite.
if keeping in touch is on your new year's resolution list, hello!lucky can help. the greeting card company is offering monthly card subscriptions this year. for $12 a month, you can receive three pre-stamped letterpress cards -- selected from among hello!lucky's new or best-selling cards.*
if i had an iphone, which i'm sure someday soon i will (whether i like it or not...i do so love my blackberry in the meantime), this is the wallpaper i'd use. free download from erin of cotton + flax!
grey likes weddings is one of those wedding blogs i've been following from day one. summer relaunched yesterday with a great new style + layout designed by megan from maemae paperie. how great are those colors? i love sensibility of the new site. now all we need to see are some same-sex couples!
emma is a much braver woman than i. i adore french macarons, but in spite of that (maybe because of it) am terrified to try + make them myself. emma from a beautiful mess is forging onward! her + elsie's birthday list idea is great though + much less intimidating.
