i love this quote, and i love all the hope + promise + opportunity that comes with the new year. i have so much to be grateful for from this past year, including finding a new job, getting engaged + finally starting to plan our wedding, starting this blog, + buying (+ paying off because honestly it was only $500) my very first car. more importantly, everyone i love is happy + healthy. times are tough, but we're making it work the best way we know how, spending lots of time with friends and family.
2012 was pretty great, but i do have a few resolutions for next year...
- take better care of my body (i've got a wedding dress to fit into soon after all...)
- launch a new project that i've been very excited about for awhile -- more details to come!
- work on redoing + updating our house room by room (nothing major, just new pillows, lamps, organization, etc. maybe some painting.)
- read more books! i'm thinking about starting a book club. what do you guys think?
- try craft projects that are a little harder. i have a knitting pattern i'm terrified to do, + want to try more intermediate sewing.
- oh yeah...get married!
tonight we'll be with our dear friends steve + julia, ringing in the new year in julia's mom's shop above main st. in northampton. from there, we'll have a few glasses of champagne + watch the crowds gather in the intersection, then run down a few minutes before midnight to count down with everyone in the street as the ball on top of the hotel northampton rises (yeah, rise. we do things a little differently here!) i hope all of you have a new year's eve that is just as special.
oh yeah, + today will be spent watching the twilight zone marathon on syfy. favorite!
what are your resolutions for the new year?
