kristie + i are off to connecticut tomorrow for thanksgiving with my family! i hope all of you spend lots of time this week with people you love + amazing food. i'm so excited to spend time with my brother + sister, and my parents, cousins, and other relatives. samson is going to his doggy hotel until friday -- so it's a guarantee he'll have the best time of all!
check back for three more "open" posts leading up to small business saturday, and please consider saving some of your black friday cash for local stores instead. they fuel our local economies + help strengthen our communities. plus small businesses often have original gifts that can't be found elsewhere (extra christmas points)!
links i've been loving lately
rent the runway's blog has great tips for getting your measurements, crucial information for anybody who orders clothes online...ever.
thanksgiving is almost over, so you can't stop me! check out a diy of how to make your own christmas poppers (crackers? i don't know. what do you call them?) at oh happy day.
get ready for some giggling. bri from design love fest (+ blogshop) posted a video interview with five bloggers who've taken her blog class (omg jen + tara from ban.do are the funniest). i'm very much looking forward to my first blogshop class in boston next feb! there are still spots available for now...
drea is raising the most polite little girl ever, + i can't get over it. try working as a concessionist at a movie theater for six years...you're bound to run into a few kids with some nasty habits (and a rude parent or two). it made me really notice when kids say please + thank you and are generally pleasant and have "social capital", as my mother would call it. well, marlowe has it!
it's holiday party season! check out apartment therapy's five things to do in the thirty minutes before guests arrive. these are the things i forget every time! not anymore...i'm ready to party.
