picking like choosing, not like...actually picking flowers.
we sent photos of flowers and colors we love to our wedding florist this week (one of our good family friends whom we are actually partially paying in babysitting) and i can't get over how pretty these arrangements are. i think we'll let ruby (our floral designer) kind of go where she wants with our flowers as long as they fit our general color scheme...it will be an exercise in not worrying about the little things, and truly enjoying our engagement.

i think i'd have to say -- and trust me, it's painful to pick -- my favorites for our wedding inspiration purposes are the flowers from 100 layer cake and style me pretty. especially on such a rainy day, it's great to glance at these amazing photos every now and again!
also, i don't know if we've talked about this lately, but i'm fostering an obession with non-strapless wedding dresses. i had such a frustrating time finding one that matched my style (vintage, simple, a little more on the modest side -- but thankfully, i found the perfect one!) that i put together a pinterest board of my favorite options. i don't have anything against strapless dresses; i just think more style options should be available for the brides who want something a little different! and since last week was bridal week, i got a chance to add plenty of new (gorgeous) styles!
this weekend is shaping up to be a nice relaxing one...i'm hightailing it to connecticut tonight to spend some much needed one-on-one time with my momma (on the schedule: gone with the wind + chardonnay) and on saturday night, kristie and i have tickets to see david sedaris with two of our dear dear friends. i hope you all have a lovely saturday + sunday too!
