kristie and i escaped to provincetown, ma this past weekend to celebrate my 25th birthday! we love p-town and try to visit at least once a year. it's great in the summer, but even better in the off-season when it's peaceful (and cheaper). my best friend from college and her boyfriend met up with us there (her birthday is the day after mine!). it was rainy almost all weekend, but we still had a blast -- thanks in part to our hotel room's electric fireplace! some favorites: spotting a wild sea lion from our deck, climbing to the top of the plymouth monument, the best bacon cheeseburger, a whole restaurant singing "happy birthday," cooking an accidentally vegan dinner, and the sun finally making an appearance.

samson spent the weekend at bed + bowl, the most amazing boarders we've ever used. he's happy and exhausted (i don't think he missed us). it was the perfect birthday weekend. i can't wait to go back.
p.s. i'm in good birthday company -- miss james at bleubird welcomed her brand new son sailor on sept. 30! congratulations james + family. he's beautiful!
