it can't be true -- but the leaves are already starting to fall in western massachusetts! it was around this time of year that my brother and sister and i would start collecting leaves on our walk home from school, and our mom would help us turn them into beautiful window decorations (especially when the sun hits just right!)

find the prettiest leaves you can -- the fresher fallen the better. gather wax paper, a towel, and iron.
i found a few autumn flowers in the backyard that we used too.
cut two pieces of wax paper approximately the same size. lay one on top of the towel (or ironing board) and arrange your leaves. put the other piece of wax paper on top, and cover with the other half of the towel. iron until wax paper has melted!
find a sunny window and tape those suckers up!
