i don't know about you, but i'm not especially good with knives. so when this beautiful autumn season comes around, i start to dread pumpkin carving a little. that is, until i spotted white pumpkins (i have also heard them called ghost pumpkins) being sold on the side of the road, and an idea began brewing. we grabbed a few -- and the normal kind, and a few sugar pumpkins for cheesecake (so kind of a lot) -- and brought out the spray paint and painter's tape. i taped them up in a chevron pattern, spray-painted them outside, waited a bit, and peeled off the tape! i just just love it. my taping was a little sloppy, but i think that gives it a weird tim burton feeling.
so happy with the weirdness. i definitely recommend using spray paint; the orange pumpkin in the last picture i painted with a brush, and as you can see, it leaked underneath the tape a little too much.
