I don't ever post on the weekends, but oh my god. I'm angry.
What is left to say that hasn't been said about Donald Trump? How is our country still considering this human trash fire a viable candidate for the presidency? Let's face it, it's (really) easy to joke about this guy, but he is representative of all the worst parts of the patriarchy, fragile masculinity, blatant racism, and insidious misogyny that plague and thrive in our society.
Do you know a woman? A person of color? Someone new to this country? Someone queer? Please help us stop Trump. The threat is real; the potential results? Disastrous. It's easy to pretend our country will wise up and make the right decision, but our healthcare rights, our physical safety, our jobs, our families, and our dignity are at stake. This isn't pretend anymore.
Also, I'm over this rhetoric of Hillary being the lesser of two evils. She is an experienced politician with a record that shows evolution, maturity, and strength. She has time and again stood up for the minorities Trump continues to viciously target. I'm so proud to support her. I know she'll spearhead important changes like an increased taxes on the most wealthy to reinvest in our country, paid maternity and paternity leave, action against climate change, and stricter gun control; plus protect women's healthcare rights and preserve the legislation that allows couples like Kristie and I to be married. Racial injustice, LGBT rights, criminal justice reform, campus sexual assault – who we choose to lead this country next is going to matter, so much. I trust her.
